Version 1.33.0 — Business profiles with photos
20 Oct 2026Rolling out- Use your normal RevMate account to add a business, upload its logo, manage contact details and photos, and reply to reviews from My business.
- Business pages now look like a proper profile: a photo grid, Open now and opening hours, address with directions, services, and Call, Directions, Website and Share buttons.
- Add up to 5 photos to your review, and see every photo from the business and its customers in the Photos tab.
- Business owners can add photos, keep their hours and details up to date, and reply to reviews.
- Many more kinds of business, grouped into sectors: every type of dealership, specialists, glass, wraps, wheel refurb, breakers, hire, storage, driving schools and more.
Fixes
- Listing pages have a fresher RevMate look, with the price and auction details in their own card.
Version 1.32.0 — Electric cars, properly
20 Oct 2026- Hundreds of current UK models added when you pick a car, including electric and hybrid ones: Tesla Model 3 and Y, MG4, Kia EV6, VW ID.3, Polestar, BYD, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and more.
- Fix a problem now asks what powers your car (petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric) and fills it in for you when it can tell.
- Electric cars get electric answers: 12V battery, charging, battery temperature, turtle mode, motor whine and rusty discs, and never engine faults like a head gasket.
Version 1.31.0 — Tidier messages, settings and listings
20 Oct 2026- Chats now fill your phone screen, with bigger bubbles, Today/Yesterday labels and a comfier message box.
- Settings are grouped like the big apps: tap a section (Account, Notifications, Privacy…) to open just those options.
- Followers and Following show up to 5 faces, then a +N button opens the full list with Follow back.
- Listings are laid out like the big marketplaces, with the price, bids and buttons up top and the description in its own box.
Fixes
- Posts in the feed are split by a single line instead of a double gap.
Version 1.30.0 — RevMate Store, auctions and a fresher feed
20 Oct 2026- RevMate Store: car care, parts and accessories delivered to your door. Add to basket, pay securely and track your order in My orders.
- Auctions on Buy & Sell: sell your car or parts to the highest bidder, with an optional secret reserve. Late bids add 2 minutes, so no sniping.
- Your feed is fresh every time you open it: posts you've already seen make way for new ones, and new members' first posts get a boost.
- Collect badges for posting, streaks, meets, helping others, Car of the Week and more. They show on your profile.
Fixes
- Terms and privacy policy updated for the Store, auctions and the feed.
Version 1.29.0 — Fix a problem, step by step — and Shops
20 Oct 2026- New Fix a problem: pick what's happening (leak, warning light, noise, smoke, won't start…), answer a few quick questions and see the likely causes, how urgent each is, a rough UK price and a safe check to do yourself.
- Ask RevMate AI: describe it in your own words and the AI asks a couple more questions to narrow it down, using what other owners of your car have reported.
- Not sure? One tap writes a help post from your answers, filed under the right part of the car, or finds a mechanic.
- Shops: car stuff from UK brands and small makers, from parts and detailing to air fresheners and merch. Make something? List your shop free.
Version 1.28.0 — Ready for TikTok
19 Oct 2026- New landing pages for our TikTok posts and ads, each opening straight into fuel prices, EV chargers, selling and more.
- Works smoothly inside TikTok's and Instagram's built-in browsers, with tips for adding RevMate to your home screen.
- Optional TikTok ad cookies: we only use them if you tap Allow, and never for under-18s.
- Home-screen shortcuts to Fuel prices, EV chargers, Buy & Sell and Sell.
Fixes
- "Use my location" on fuel prices and EV chargers is much more reliable: it finds a rough position first, then waits longer for GPS, and explains exactly what to change if your phone blocks it.
- Meet reminders and partner click counts weren't being sent; they are now.
- Cookie and privacy policies updated.
Version 1.27.0 — Optional extras that keep RevMate free
19 Oct 2026- Everything social stays free. New optional extras help pay for the app, and none of them appear in the feed.
- Sellers can feature an advert at the top of Buy & Sell.
- RevMate Plus: back the app, get a Plus badge and see no ads or deals anywhere. Founding members get a lower price.
- Business Pro puts garages and traders first in Find a mechanic, always labelled as promoted.
- Handy deals on tyres, servicing, parts and home chargers on the Essentials, EV and fuel pages, clearly marked as ads.
- Weekly challenges can now have a sponsor and a prize.
Fixes
- Terms and privacy policy updated to cover payments and deals.
Version 1.26.0 — Getting ready for launch
19 Oct 2026- New visitors now land on Essentials (fuel prices, EV chargers and your car's tools), which work from day one. Members still start on the Community feed.
- Send feedback from Settings or the menu. Bugs and ideas go straight to the team.
- The first 100 members get a numbered Founding member badge on their profile.
Fixes
- Removed leftover "coming soon" sections.
- Revs only shows in the menu once there are videos to watch.
Version 1.25.0 — Car pages that grow themselves
14 Oct 2026- Posting about a car now automatically creates or links its car page, so Browse cars fills up as members post.
- Added around 30 of the UK's most common cars with their best-known faults.
- Adverts now have a Share button — send the car to friends on WhatsApp, Messages or anywhere else.
Fixes
- Car Battles are hidden for now while we make them work better — the Rankings page is still there.
Version 1.24.0 — Home EV charger guide
14 Oct 2026- Fix a problem: tap one of your own cars instead of picking a make and model.
- New home charger guide in EV chargers: compare popular models, rough prices, pros and cons, and rate the one you own.
Version 1.23.0 — Install the app from your phone
14 Oct 2026- Signed-in members now get a one-time prompt to add RevMate to their phone's home screen — one tap on Android, easy steps on iPhone
- The More menu has a permanent 'Install the app' entry so anyone can add it later
Version 1.22.0 — Easier to find on Google
14 Oct 2026- RevMate is now verified in Google Search Console with the sitemap submitted, so Google can find every public page
- The homepage has a clear main heading, and car, meet and marketplace photos now have proper descriptions for Google Images and screen readers
Version 1.21.0 — Better groups
7 Oct 2026- Group pages look like you'd expect: a big cover photo, the group's icon, name, Private/Public and member count, Join and Invite buttons
- Tabs for Posts, About (description, privacy, who can join, rules) and Photos (every photo posted in the group); moderators get a Manage tab with a badge when something needs reviewing
- A 'Write something…' bar at the top of the group, like Facebook
- Groups that aren't about one car can have their own icon: use the car brand's logo or upload a picture
- Member counts read like 34K members
Fixes
- The group's logo on the groups list no longer gets cut off by the cover photo
Version 1.20.0 — Night mode
7 Oct 2026- Night mode: RevMate now goes dark automatically when your phone is in dark mode, and switches back when your phone does
- Choose Automatic, Light or Dark in Settings → Appearance, or at the bottom of the menu
- No white flash when the app opens at night
- Night mode uses neutral dark greys (no blue tint) and the white RevMate logo
- Appearance is now at the top of Settings, as a car-style dial: sun for day, AUTO to match your phone, moon for night
- Car brand logos always sit in a small white circle, so dark logos (Audi, Toyota, Mercedes…) show up clearly in night mode and next to profile pictures
Fixes
- Feed filter buttons and the 'Posting as' box now look right in dark mode
Version 1.19.0 — Fuel prices near you
5 Oct 2026- New in Essentials: today's petrol and diesel prices at stations near you, from the open price data UK fuel retailers publish
- Unleaded, diesel, super unleaded and premium diesel, sorted cheapest or nearest; RevMate remembers which fuel you buy
- A banner shows the cheapest station near you and roughly how much you save on a 50-litre fill
- List or map view, with prices on the map coloured green, amber and red, and one-tap directions
- Warns you when a station's prices haven't been updated for a few days
- EV charger map: chargers now show as little charger pins coloured by speed, and the buttons are simpler — one big Directions button plus Map, Ask drivers and Fix info
- Ask drivers: one tap starts a post asking if a charger is working, with the charger's name and address already filled in
- Build Showcase posts now need a photo (or video): the option is greyed out with a reminder until you add one
- Directions on EV chargers and fuel stations now let you pick Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze, with the one you used last at the top
Version 1.18.0 — EV charger map
4 Oct 2026- New EV charger map in Essentials: every public charging point on a proper map, coloured by speed (ultra-rapid, rapid, fast, slow)
- Opens as a list of the nearest chargers, closest first, with plugs, speeds and one-tap directions; switch to the map any time
- Search a postcode or town, or tap Near me; if you've allowed location it finds chargers straight away, otherwise it starts on your area
- Tap Details on any charger, then Show on map to see exactly where it is
- Filter by speed (7, 50 or 150 kW+), plug type (Type 2, CCS, CHAdeMO, Tesla) and free chargers
- Tap a charger for plugs and speeds, cost, opening hours, how to pay, and one-tap directions in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze
- Works without an account and can be found on Google
- With an Open Charge Map key set, chargers from both OpenStreetMap and Open Charge Map are combined (duplicates shown once), with "Reported not working" warnings
Version 1.17.0 — A simpler, tidier RevMate
3 Oct 2026- Shorter menu: Leaderboard and Car Battles are now one Top cars section with Battles and Rankings tabs
- Ask for help now makes a help post in the feed, so owners can reply and you can mark it fixed (it used to save your question somewhere you couldn't see it)
- Essentials in the menu now opens the Essentials view of Home instead of a separate copy of it
- Removed the old Questions sections from car pages and profiles — asking for help is just a post in the feed now, and car pages link straight to it
- Home shortcuts: Battles, Revs and Meets
- Pit Stops are now photos only (they still disappear after 24 hours); videos go in the feed and show in Revs
Fixes
- Removed the Near you page — Meets already shows how far away each meet is and can sort nearest first
- Posts can no longer have a location attached, and the rough locations already on posts are deleted, so nobody can read them from the app's data
- Removed the daily streak flame from the top bar
- Removed leftover "coming soon" screens and the "MOT data" and "Parts" placeholders on car pages
- Removed the unused "Save on running costs" choice when you first sign up
- Faster start-up: the app no longer checks for features that are all live now
- Security: like, follower and "going" counts can't be faked any more (any faked numbers are put back to the real ones), so Rankings are fair
- Safety: people who aren't signed in (and Google) only see members known to be 18 or over
- Profile social buttons only open the real Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat or X site
- Only RevMate admins can add cars and common faults to the research pages
Version 1.16.0 — Profiles you can share and find on Google
2 Oct 2026- Profile and garage links open for anyone, even without an account, and show a proper preview when shared (adults only — under-18s stay private)
- Profiles can appear in Google, with your handle, cars and photo
- Profile links work however they're typed: /u/@Jorderz, /u/Jorderz or /u/jorderz
- One main web address (revmate.co.uk): other RevMate addresses forward to it, so Google and shared links always use the same one
- Car research (specs & common faults), Problems & fixes, Car meets and the groups list can now be seen without an account and found on Google
- Better Google titles and descriptions for research, meets and groups
- New post now shows who you're posting as (you or one of your cars), with a quick Change button
Fixes
- Removed the long link footer that cluttered every page and could wrongly send signed-in members to sign in again
- Buy & Sell: switching from Parts back to Cars no longer leaves a parts filter on that hid every car
Version 1.15.0 — Edit your adverts & quicker selling
2 Oct 2026- Edit your adverts any time: title, headline, price, mileage, photos (and which one is the cover), description, car details, running costs, part details, location and offers
- Quicker to list: a car needs just one photo, and price (or POA) and mileage are optional; parts only need a title
- Selling a car from your garage fills in as much as it can for you: engine size, fuel, gearbox, colour, power, body style, doors, MOT date, mileage and whether it's modified (from your logged mods)
- Advert strength: a score with tips shows sellers what to add, and stronger adverts rank higher in the new "Best match" order on Buy & Sell
Fixes
- Compare now shows every car's photo at the same size, whatever shape the original photos are
- Vehicle details boxes no longer overlap on iPhone, and all the boxes are the same height
- Date and time boxes no longer overlap anywhere on iPhone; on Post a meet the end time is now an optional "+ Add end time" button instead of showing the current time
- The Track day meet cover now has the chequered finish line across the track
- Advert prices now look like a dealer's windscreen price board: tall, bold number cards in a holder that flip into place one by one
- Essentials has a cleaner, iPhone-style design: your cars up top with big MOT and tax countdowns, four big tool tiles (Fix a problem, Find a mechanic, Sell, Ask for help) and simple grouped lists for everything else, with nothing social
- Buy & Sell: All / Cars / Parts is now a big switch that's easy to tap, and the filter buttons are bigger
- The "to compare" bar on Buy & Sell now sits above the bottom bar on iPhone instead of being cut off, and no longer covers the last listings
Version 1.14.0 — A better Buy & Sell
1 Oct 2026- Save a search and get alerts when a new listing matches, or when one drops into your budget
- Search near you: enter your postcode, pick 10–100 miles, and see how far away each listing is
- Make an offer: sellers can accept, decline or come back with a price, and you're told at each step
- Price guide on cars: Good, Fair or Higher price compared with similar cars on RevMate (only when there are enough to compare)
- Parts get categories, condition (new, used, refurbished), photos and postage or collection
- "Fits your car" badge on parts that match a car in your garage
- Seller trust: member since, how quickly they usually reply, items sold, and reviews from real buyers
- After selling through RevMate, pick who bought it and they can leave you a review
- Compare up to three cars side by side
- Similar listings on every advert, plus running costs (MPG, CO₂, insurance group) and a road tax link
- Photo guide and an advert quality score when you sell
- MOT history link to GOV.UK on every car, with registration lookup and in-app MOT history coming soon
- Meet covers: upload a photo, reuse one from a past meet, or pick a RevMate design. Organisers can change it any time, and meets without one get a matching design automatically
- Groups can have a cover image: add one when you create a group, or change it in group settings
- Social links got a glow-up: brand-coloured buttons with your @handle on your profile, and you can just type your username to add them. YouTube, Snapchat and X added
- A clearer "Your area" section in Edit profile and Settings: it explains what it's for, and that it's never shown to anyone
- Your area now shows how far car meets are, sorts meets nearest first, and fills in your advert location and "near me" on Buy & Sell
Version 1.13.0 — Car care, smart diagnostics, search & local businesses
28 Sep 2026- MOT and road tax reminders: add the dates to your car and get reminders 30, 7 and 1 day before, with GOV.UK links and add-to-calendar
- Diagnostic posts ask which part of the car the problem is in, and the author can mark it fixed with one tap and say what fixed it
- When a problem is fixed, everyone who liked or commented is told; authors get a nudge if they haven't updated it
- Known issues on every car page, plus a Problems & fixes page to find faults other owners have fixed
- Search now works: people, cars, posts, listings, groups, hashtags and businesses
- Tag the car a post is about by make, model, engine and year, perfect for asking what a car is like to own
- Hashtags light up as you type, with popular tags suggested like on TikTok
- A smarter For You feed that learns what you're into from your cars (brand, EV, modified or standard) and what you like
- Local businesses: mechanics, bodywork, EV installers, detailers and dealers, rated and reviewed by members, with trust badges and reporting
- Admin ads manager for local sponsored posts targeted by area and car type, always labelled Sponsored
- Set your area in Settings for local offers (only you can see it)
- Diagnostic posts have a new Speakers / Sound option for audio faults
- Unread messages now show as a red number on Messages in the bottom bar, the menu button and the menu, and update live
Fixes
- Diagnostic posts now keep their category in the standard header position, with status, problem type and selected car grouped neatly below
- Message threads now fit phone screens without page-level scrolling, keeping the chat header and composer visible while messages scroll independently
Version 1.12.0 — Smoother videos, car specs & RevMate News
28 Sep 2026- Reactions now work properly on phones: hold the heart without the page trying to select or copy, or tap the like count to pick a reaction
- Videos in the feed play silently on their own as you scroll, one at a time, with a slim progress bar and a sound button
- Tap a video for a full-screen player with sound, a seek bar and tap-to-pause
- Car adverts get an Overview card with icons for the key details (mileage, year, fuel, body, gearbox, engine, doors, seats) and a View all details button for owners, MOT, service history, ULEZ and more
- Buy & Sell filters for make, model, year, mileage, gearbox, fuel, body type, seller and ULEZ, plus sorting by mileage or age
- A 'Before you buy' checklist on every car advert, with a link to the free GOV.UK MOT history check
- RevMate News: official posts from the RevMate team in your feed, covering app updates, news, fuel prices and partner offers
Fixes
- Opening the admin page directly by its web address now works for admins
Version 1.11.0 — Announcements
28 Sep 2026- Pop-up announcements when you open the app, so you never miss what's new
- Each announcement shows once, and can have a picture and a button
- Admins can start from the latest update or write their own, pick who sees it (everyone, 18+ or under 18s) and schedule start and end times
- Admins see how many people saw each announcement and tapped its button
Version 1.10.0 — Safer sign-up, privacy & sharing
28 Sep 2026- New step-by-step sign-up: birthday, email and password, username, then agreeing to the Terms and Privacy Policy (marketing emails are optional and unticked)
- RevMate is for people 13 and over; under-13 sign-ups are refused
- Teen protections: selling on Buy & Sell, hosting meets and adding a location to posts unlock at 18, and direct messages at 16
- Existing members are asked once to confirm their date of birth and agree to the updated terms

- Extra security headers on every page
Version 1.9.0 — Group entry rules
28 Sep 2026- When making a group, choose who can join: everyone, owners of one brand, or owners of one exact car
- Brand and car groups check your garage when you tap join, and tell you what car you need if you don't have it
- In brand and car groups you can only post as a matching car from your garage
- New 'No sales or advertising' setting blocks for-sale posts and listing links in a group
- Group rules people must agree to, plus entry questions (rules to agree to, yes/no with a required answer, or written answers)
- Moderators see each person's answers with their join request
- Owners can change the make, model, entry rule, joining, sales setting, rules and questions at any time
Version 1.8.1 — Join to unlock
